What it is

The Sheer Voile Swag Valance is a light window topper made from 100 percent polyester in a sheer voile weave. The fabric is airy and see-through, so daylight still reaches the room while the top of the window gets a finished look. A rod pocket runs along the top, which means the valance slides straight onto a curtain rod with no rings or hooks needed.

It is sold as a single piece. Wider sizes are gathered into more swags, so a narrow window gets one soft drape and a wide window gets several.

Sizes

Each size is 41.3 in (105 cm) long. The width you choose decides how many swags the valance forms.

Size Swags
39.3 x 41.3 in (100 x 105 cm) 1 swag
59 x 41.3 in (150 x 105 cm) 2 swags
78.7 x 41.3 in (200 x 105 cm) 3 swags
98.4 x 41.3 in (250 x 105 cm) 3 swags
118.1 x 41.3 in (300 x 105 cm) 4 swags

Measure your rod first, then pick the width closest to it. If you want fuller gathering, size up.

Color

The valance comes in white. The sheer weave keeps the color light and neutral, so it sits easily with wood tones, painted trim, and most curtain styles. White also reads clean against a bright window and blends into the background when you want the view to stay the focus.

How to fit and use it

Slide the rod pocket onto your curtain rod and adjust the gathers by hand until the swags fall the way you like. The valance works on its own above a bare window, over blinds, or layered with longer curtains for a fuller treatment.

A few ways to use it:

  • On its own in a kitchen, bathroom, or small window where you want light and a soft edge.
  • Over sheer or blackout curtains in a living room or bedroom for a layered look.
  • Across a wide window or sliding door in the largest size, where four swags cover the span.
  • In a rental, where a rod pocket valance goes up in minutes and comes down just as fast.

Because the fabric is sheer, the rod shows through slightly. A simple rod in a matching or contrasting finish both work. If you plan to open and close curtains underneath, leave a little extra room on the rod so the valance keeps its shape.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Use a low iron if needed. The sheer weave dries quickly, so it is easy to wash and put right back on the rod. Wash it alone or with light colors to keep the white bright.

Questions

How many pieces come in one order?

Each order is a single piece. If you need valances for two windows, order two.

How do I choose the right width?

Measure your curtain rod and pick the width closest to it. Wider sizes form more swags, so a 118.1 in (300 cm) valance gives you four swags across a wide window.

Does it block light?

No. The sheer voile weave lets daylight through while softening the top of the window. It works well layered over blinds or longer curtains.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash cold, hang dry, and use a low iron if needed. The sheer fabric dries fast and goes back on the rod easily.
