What it is and how it is made

This is a short decorative valance for the top of a window. The fabric is 100% polyester, light in weight and matte in finish, so it filters light without a shine. A rod pocket runs across the top, which means the fabric slides onto a rod and gathers as it hangs. The print is multicolor and comes in two Easter styles: Bunny village and Bunny and eggs repeat. Each order includes a single valance.

Size and fit

A 55.12 in (140 cm) width suits many standard single windows. Because the fabric gathers on the rod, the visible width is a little narrower than the flat panel. Measure your rod first, then compare it with the flat width. The 17.72 in (45 cm) drop covers the upper part of the window and leaves the lower glass clear.

Styles and colors

Two styles are available:

• Bunny village: a spring scene with bunny houses and garden details.
• Bunny and eggs repeat: a repeating pattern of bunnies and eggs.

Both styles use a multicolor palette. The colors sit on a light matte ground, so they read clearly from across a room without looking heavy. Pick the scene style if you want one large picture across the panel. Pick the repeat style if you prefer an even pattern that looks the same from either side of the window.

How to hang it

Slide the rod through the top pocket, then set the rod back on its brackets. Spread the gathers by hand so the folds sit evenly. For a fuller look, push the fabric together on the rod. For a flatter look, spread it out toward the ends. The short drop works well on its own over a sheer, or layered above longer curtains. It also suits a kitchen window, a small bathroom window or a door window. Take the rod down before you wash the valance so the hardware stays dry.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Iron on a low setting if needed. Wash the valance with like colors and skip bleach. A low iron on the back side smooths the fabric after drying. The polyester dries quickly, so it can go back on the rod the same day.
