How to size a table runner
Take the table length, add 20% for a gathered look, add the drop at each end twice, then round up to a 71, 108, 118, 134 or 157 in (180, 275, 300, 340 or 400 cm) runner.
Size your runners
12 x 118 in runners for 10 tables
$359.50
Each table needs 111 in, gathered with a 12 in drop.
10 single runners.
Order today, it arrives in 6-15 days.
1. Measure the table
Measure its length, or the diameter of a round table. Every table gets its own runner.
2. Choose the drop
Decide how far the runner falls at each end: 8 or 12 in (20 or 30 cm), 30 in (75 cm) to the floor, or 37 in (95 cm) to pool.
3. Add 20% and round up
Add 20% of the table length for a gathered look, add the drop twice, then round up. A 71 in (180 cm) table with a 12 in (30 cm) drop needs 109 in (276 cm), so a 118 in (300 cm) runner.
Long tables and banquet rows
For one long row of tables, overlap runners where the tables meet. If a table needs more than 157 in (400 cm), our longest runner, try a smaller drop, or overlap runners for a continuous table.
Packs
The Crinkled Gauze Table Runner comes as a 6-pack of 35 x 118 in (90 x 300 cm) runners from $79.95, about $13.33 a runner. The other runners are sold singly.
For the arch
Measure the width and height of your arch frame, then pick the cover that matches. The Fitted Stretch Arch Cover comes in 31 x 71 in, 39 x 79 in and 47 x 87 in (80 x 180, 100 x 200 and 120 x 220 cm), width by height. The white polyester spandex stretches over the frame and shows the same finish on both sides; the frame is not included.
For the window
Measure from the curtain rod to where you want the hem. For soft fullness, use fabric 1.5-2 times the window width. The Floral Ruffled Cafe Curtain, one of our cafe curtains, is a 100% cotton panel 24 or 55 in (60 or 140 cm) wide with a rod pocket for rods up to 1.2 in (3 cm).
Styling the crinkled cheesecloth weave
Our gauze table runners, like The Crinkled Cheesecloth Gauze Runner and The Wrinkle Gauze Table Runner, are 35 in (90 cm) wide before they are gathered. Because the polyester gauze has an open, crinkled weave, pulling it taut makes it look narrow and flat. Instead, pinch and bunch the fabric loosely down the center line of the table.
One layer allows the surface underneath to show through. If you want a deeper shade or heavier texture, fold the fabric lengthwise or set a second layer along the tabletop. Always keep the loose fabric away from open candle flames during setup.
Washing and prepping your runners
Wash the fabric before setting your tables. Our runners take a cold machine wash; hang them to dry without stretching them out, which keeps the crinkled finish intact.
If you need to soften deep folds after transit, iron on low or steam the fabric lightly from a distance. The Crinkled Cheesecloth Gauze Runner has raw edges, so slight fraying is normal. Test your setup on a single table before the day to confirm the drop and density.
