The Boho Macrame Table Runner

What it is and how it is made

The Boho Macrame Table Runner is a woven knit runner with an embroidered pattern and a tassel at each end. The fabric is a polyester cotton blend, so it holds its shape on the table and feels soft to the touch. The embroidered design gives the surface a raised, handcrafted look that suits boho, farmhouse and casual dining rooms.

This is a runner, not a full tablecloth. It runs down the center of the table, so you can leave the rest of the surface bare or layer it over a cloth you already own. The tassels sit at both short ends and add a relaxed finish.

Sizes

Every size is 12 in (30 cm) wide. The length you choose is the length of the runner, measured end to end, not including the tassels.

A short 12 x 20 in (30 x 51 cm) size works on a side table, a console or a small bistro table. Mid lengths from 47 to 71 in (119 to 180 cm) fit most dining tables for four to six. Longer sizes from 79 to 118 in (201 to 300 cm) suit large dining tables and long buffet setups.

Colors

The runner comes in two colors: khaki and gray. Khaki is a warm, sandy neutral that pairs well with wood tones, cream dishes and natural linens. Gray is a cooler neutral that sits easily with white, black and blue table settings. Both colors use the same embroidered pattern and the same tassel trim.

How to use it

Lay the runner down the center of the table and let an even length hang over each end. As a guide, aim for 6 to 12 in (15 to 30 cm) of overhang on each side. If you are between two sizes, choose the longer one for a dining table and the shorter one for a console or sideboard.

Use it on its own for a simple everyday look, or layer it over a plain tablecloth for holidays and family dinners. The neutral colors make it easy to dress up with candles, a centerpiece or seasonal plates. It also works on a bedroom dresser, an entryway console or a coffee table.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Iron on a low setting if needed. Wash the runner on its own or with similar colors, and reshape the tassels with your fingers while the fabric is still damp. Store it folded flat or rolled to keep the embroidered pattern smooth between uses.
