The Christmas Wreath Table Runner

What it is

This is a single-piece table runner made from 100 percent polyester in a matte weave. The finish keeps the surface soft rather than shiny, so the print reads clearly without glare under dining room light. It is a Christmas runner, made to sit down the center of a table rather than cover the whole top.

The runner measures 13 x 71 in (35 x 180 cm). That long, narrow shape suits a dining table, a console, a sideboard or a buffet. Tableware and decorations are not included.

Size

One size is available.

A 71 in (180 cm) length gives you overhang at both ends on most dining tables, and it leaves room for place settings on either side. On a longer table, let the runner run straight down the middle and keep it centered.

Colors and prints

Six Christmas prints are available:

• Beige wreath: a soft beige ground with a wreath motif
• Red Merry Christmas: a red ground with holiday lettering
• Beige tree: a beige ground with a tree motif
• Beige Santa: a beige ground with a Santa figure
• Cream Santa: a cream ground with a Santa figure
• Red plaid: a classic red plaid pattern

The beige and cream options sit quietly against wood, white and linen. The red options bring more color to the table. Red plaid works well for a traditional Christmas setting, while the Santa and tree prints lean more playful.

How to use it

Lay the runner down the center of the table and center it end to end. Add plates, glasses and candles on either side. For a console or sideboard, run it front to back or left to right, depending on the surface, and set a bowl or a few candles on top.

Because the runner is narrow, it layers well over a plain tablecloth or a bare wood top. Mix prints by keeping the runner as the main pattern and using solid napkins and plates. For a calmer table, choose Beige wreath or Cream Santa and let the food and flowers carry the color.

The matte weave holds its shape on the table and does not slide around easily under normal use. Smooth it with your hands after unfolding.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Use a low iron if needed. Wash it on its own or with similar colors, especially for the red prints, and hang it straight so it dries flat. Fold or roll it for storage between seasons.
