The Crinkled Gauze Table Runner

What it is and how it feels

The Crinkled Gauze Table Runner is made from polyester cotton gauze in a sheer crinkled weave. The fabric has a light, airy hand and a naturally rumpled surface that stays soft after washing. Because the weave is sheer, it layers well over a plain cloth or a bare wood table without hiding what is underneath.

The crinkled texture is part of the design, not a flaw. It gives the runner a relaxed, gathered look that works for everyday dinners and for party tables. The edges are finished so the runner drapes in loose folds along the length of the table.

Size

One size covers most tables. The runner is long enough to hang over the ends of a standard dining table or to pool slightly at each end if you prefer a gathered look.

To check the fit, measure your table length and add the drop you want at each end. A 118 in (300 cm) runner gives a generous overhang on most six to eight seat tables.

Colors

There are 19 colors to choose from: Pink, Vintage pink, Rose, White, Purple pink, Light blue, Beige, Green, Orange, Purple, Peach pink, Army green, Wine red, Gray blue, Black, Peacock blue, Navy blue, Dark green and Yellow.

The range runs from quiet neutrals to deep, saturated tones. White, beige and light blue keep a table light and clean. Wine red, navy blue, dark green and black add weight for holidays and evening meals. Pink, rose, peach pink and purple pink bring a softer, warmer note. Because the gauze is sheer, each color reads a little lighter on the table than it does in the swatch.

Pack options

It comes as a 6-pack, for setting several tables at once. The 6-pack suits weddings, showers, holiday dinners and other gatherings where you want the same runner across multiple tables. Each runner in the pack is the same size and color.

How to use it

Lay the runner down the center of the table and let the ends fall where they fall. The crinkled weave holds a soft fold, so you can gather it loosely or pull it smooth. It works over a bare table, over a tablecloth, or under a centerpiece of candles, flowers or a bowl of fruit.

For a layered look, pair a sheer runner with a solid cloth underneath. For a simpler table, use the runner alone with placemats and napkins. The long length also works on a console, a sideboard or a buffet where you want a soft line of color.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Use a low iron if you want a flatter finish, or leave it to dry as it is to keep the crinkled texture. Wash dark colors separately the first few times. Do not bleach.
