What this valance is

The Botanical Floral Print Valance is a short decorative panel that sits across the top of a window. It is made from 100 percent polyester at 75gsm, a light fabric with a matte finish. The floral print runs across the panel in soft botanical tones, which suits kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and small bedroom windows.

The fabric is light filtering, with 41 to 85 percent shading. It softens daylight and adds a finished look at the window while still letting the room stay bright. It is not water resistant, so it works as a decorative layer rather than a moisture barrier.

Size and panel count

Each pack contains a single panel. The panel width is measured flat, so a rod that is narrower than the panel will give you gentle folds.

The 17.72 in (45 cm) drop covers the top portion of a window. On a standard window it reads as a topper. On a shorter window it can cover more of the glass.

Colors and prints

Three botanical prints are available:

• Green eucalyptus leaves: soft green foliage on a light ground, a calm look for kitchens and dining areas.
• Yellow sunflowers: warm yellow blooms that bring a sunny feel to a breakfast nook or porch window.
• Pink and purple wildflowers: a mixed floral print with a gentle cottage feel.

All three prints use the same fabric, size, and construction. The choice is about which palette fits your room.

How to hang it

The valance has a rod pocket top. Slide a rod through the pocket and mount the rod above the window. Because the pocket runs the full width of the panel, the fabric gathers naturally when the rod is narrower than 55.12 in (140 cm).

A few notes for a clean result:

• Measure your window width first. One panel covers most standard windows. For a fuller look on a wide window, use two panels.
• Mount the rod a few inches above the window frame if you want the valance to sit higher.
• Press the panel before hanging. The fabric is matte and light, so folds from packing relax with a low iron.
• Layer it over blinds or a sheer curtain if you want more privacy. On its own it filters light rather than blocking it.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Use a low iron if needed. The print and the light matte finish hold up with simple care, and the panel dries quickly because the fabric is thin.
