What it is

The Portable Blackout Window Shade is a single panel of 100% polyester fabric with a blackout coating on the back. The fabric weight is 100 gsm, so it hangs flat without bulk. The face is matte black, which keeps the window looking calm from inside the room.

The panel is self-adhesive. You press it onto a clean, flat window frame or glass, and it stays in place. There are no rods, no hooks and no hardware to buy. It is built for flat windows, and it suits bedrooms, dorms, rentals and travel.

Sizes

The panel comes in 30 sizes. Widths run from 23.6 to 39.4 in (60 to 100 cm). Lengths run from 31.5 to 63 in (80 to 160 cm). Measure your window before you pick a size, then choose the closest match. If your window falls between two sizes, size up and trim if needed.

Color

The shade comes in Black. The matte finish keeps glare down and blends with most window frames. One color, one panel per order.

How to fit and use it

Clean the window or frame first. Dust and grease stop the adhesive from holding. Peel the backing and press the panel from the top down, smoothing as you go. Work out any air pockets with your hand.

The panel is water resistant, so a damp cloth is fine for spot cleaning. Take it down before you wash it.

Use it in a bedroom to darken the room for sleep. Use it in a dorm where you cannot drill. Use it in a rental or a hotel room when the curtains are thin.

To remove it, peel slowly from a corner. Store it flat or rolled, not folded, so the coating stays smooth.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Low iron if needed.

What to check before you buy

Measure the window opening, not the frame, if you want the panel to sit inside the frame. Measure the frame if you want it to cover the frame. This is a single panel, so a wide window may need two.
