What it is and how it is made

The No-Drill Blackout Curtain is a single window panel built to block light and hold back heat. The fabric is 100% polyester, made in two layers with a blackout coating between them. That coating is what does the work: it keeps daylight from passing through the cloth and adds a thermal barrier at the window.

The panel hangs flat and closes left to right. The surface is solid black with no print, so it sits quietly against most room colors. Because it is sold as 1 panel, order the number of panels your window needs.

Sizes

Eleven sizes cover small windows up to wide flat windows. Measurements are listed as width x height.

Size
24 x 47 in (61 x 119 cm)
24 x 59 in (61 x 150 cm)
31 x 39 in (79 x 99 cm)
31 x 47 in (79 x 119 cm)
31 x 59 in (79 x 150 cm)
39 x 51 in (99 x 130 cm)
39 x 59 in (99 x 150 cm)
39 x 79 in (99 x 201 cm)
47 x 47 in (119 x 119 cm)
51 x 59 in (130 x 150 cm)
79 x 102 in (201 x 259 cm)

Measure your window opening first, then add a few inches on each side if you want fuller coverage and less light creep at the edges. For a standard bedroom window, the 39 x 59 in (99 x 150 cm) and 51 x 59 in (130 x 150 cm) sizes are common picks. For a wide or sliding window, the 79 x 102 in (201 x 259 cm) panel covers a large span in single-piece.

Color

This curtain comes in Black. One color, one finish, no pattern. Black is the practical choice for a bedroom because it absorbs light rather than reflecting it, and it reads as a clean, solid block at the window. If your walls are light, the contrast is crisp. If your room is already dark, the panel blends in.

How to fit it

The panel uses self-adhesive, punch-free installation. There are no rods, brackets, hooks or screws to buy, and you do not drill into the wall or window frame. Press the adhesive edge into place along the top of the window, smooth the panel down, and it is up.

This makes it a fit for rentals, dorms, apartments and any window where you would rather not make holes. It also works on flat windows, which is the window type this panel is made for. Clean the surface before you press the adhesive down. Dust, grease or loose paint will weaken the bond. Press firmly along the full length and give it a little time to set before you pull on the fabric.

To open the window, part the panels left and right. If you are covering one window with two panels, meet them in the middle.

Where it works

A blackout panel earns its place in a bedroom, where it cuts morning light and helps a room stay darker for sleep. The thermal layer also helps on hot afternoons and cold nights by adding a barrier between the glass and the room. Beyond the bedroom, it suits a home office where glare hits a screen, a nursery, a guest room, a hotel room, a cafe or a small office. It is made for all seasons, so you can leave it up year round.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Low iron if needed. Wash the panel on its own or with similar dark items, and skip bleach and fabric softener. Hang it back up while it is still slightly damp and most creases will fall out on their own. If you do iron, keep the setting low and work on the fabric side.

What you get

One blackout panel in the color and size you choose. No rod, no hooks, no hardware. Check the size list against your window before ordering, and order more than one panel if your window is wider than a single panel covers.

Questions

Does this blackout curtain really need no drilling?

Correct. It uses a self-adhesive backing, so installation is punch-free. There are no screws, brackets or rods involved. Just clean the surface, press the adhesive into place and smooth the panel down.

How many panels come in one order?

One panel. It is sold as a single panel, not a pair. If your window needs two panels to cover the width, order two.

Will it block light in a bedroom?

Yes. The fabric is a double layer with a blackout coating, which is what blocks the light. For the best result, pick a size a few inches wider than your window so the edges overlap the frame.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash cold, then hang dry. Use a low iron if you need to smooth it out. Avoid bleach and fabric softener to protect the blackout coating.
