The Apricot Plaid Cafe Curtain

What it is and how it is made

This is a short cafe curtain for a kitchen window, a small bath window or a cabinet opening. The fabric is 100% polyester, 110 gsm woven, light and matte. It has a soft hand and a quiet drape, so it hangs close to the window without bulk.

The pattern is a plaid lattice in apricot. The color is warm and soft, and the weave keeps it from looking flat. The header is a special rod pocket, so the curtain slides onto a rod and gathers as it hangs. No grommets, no rings, no hooks.

Sizes

One panel per order. Pick the size that fits your window opening plus a little overlap on each side.

Measure your rod first, then choose. For a gathered look, pick a panel wider than the window. For a flatter look, pick a panel close to the window width.

Color and pattern

The curtain comes in Apricot. The plaid is a lattice grid, soft and low contrast, so it reads as texture more than a bold print. It suits white cabinets, wood counters, cream walls and warm neutral kitchens. It also works in a home office, a laundry room or a small bath where you want light to pass through.

The fabric is light, so it filters daylight rather than blocking it. It softens the view and adds a little privacy without making the room dark.

How to hang and use it

Slide the rod through the special rod pocket at the top. The pocket is built into the header, so the curtain gathers on its own. Use a rod that matches the pocket depth for a clean look. A simple round rod or a flat rod both work.

This is a single panel, not a set. For a wider window, order two panels and push them to each side for a cafe look. For a small window, one panel is often enough.

Rod and tiebacks are not included. If you want a tied look, use your own tiebacks or a strip of fabric. The curtain can also hang straight for a simple, flat finish.

Cafe curtains sit at the lower half of a window, so they cover the street view while leaving the top open for light. This panel is short by design. Check the drop you want before you order: 22 in (56 cm) for a short cafe look, 35 in (89 cm) for a longer drop.

Care

Machine wash cold. Hang dry. Low iron if needed. Wash with like colors and avoid hot water to keep the apricot tone even. The polyester weave dries quickly and holds its shape, so it goes back on the rod with little fuss.
