The Embroidered Frame Placemat

What it is

This is a single fabric placemat with embroidery detail and an irregular, softly shaped edge. The material is a polyester cotton blend, 80% polyester and 20% cotton, with a glossy finish that gives the surface a light sheen. It works as a everyday table mat for meals, coffee breaks and small gatherings.

The rectangular footprint fits most standard dinner plates, bowls and cutlery settings. Because the shape is irregular, the edges are not perfectly straight, which gives each mat a softer, hand-finished look.

Colors

Four colors are available:

• Camel
• Blue
• Beige

Black and camel read warm and grounded. Blue adds a cooler note. Beige stays light and neutral. You can pick one color for the whole table or mix two for contrast.

How to use it

Lay one mat at each seat, with the embroidered face up. The 17 x 12 in (43 x 30 cm) size leaves room for a plate, a glass and utensils without crowding the table. Use it on wood, glass or laminate surfaces. For a layered setting, place a runner down the center and set these mats on top. The glossy finish wipes clean with a damp cloth between washes.

Care

Machine washable. Wash on a gentle cycle with like colors. Skip bleach and harsh detergents. Tumble dry low or air dry flat. If the mat needs a touch-up, press it on low heat with a cloth between the iron and the embroidery. Store flat or rolled, not folded, to keep the shape neat.
