The Sage Woven Tablecloth

A green for every season

Sage sits between green and gray, which makes it one of the easiest colors to dress for fall: it warms up next to pumpkins, copper and wood, then cools down again with white dishes in spring. This cloth is a muted sage with narrow cream stripes woven into it, each with a small diamond pattern, so the surface has texture without a busy print. Cream tassels finish the edges and help the cloth hang straight.

Fabric

The fabric is 100% polyester in a twill weave. Polyester keeps its color through many washes, sheds creases quickly and dries fast, which is handy when the same cloth goes from Thanksgiving dinner to the wash and back on the table for leftovers the next day.

Add twice your drop to the table's width and length and pick the nearest size.

Styling it for fall

Sage and orange are a natural pair. Try a line of small white and orange pumpkins down the center, wooden chargers or rattan placemats, and napkins in rust or oat. For a softer look, add cream candles and a jug of dried grasses. Gold-rimmed glasses and brass candlesticks bring out the warm side of the green, and the same cloth works with red and gold at Christmas.

Care

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang to dry. Smooth the tassels with your fingers while the cloth is damp. A cool iron takes out any fold lines; polyester doesn't need a hot one. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
