The Farmhouse Ruffle Tablecloth

A neutral that dresses up or down

Oatmeal is the color of a fall table before anything else goes on it. It looks good with white plates, stoneware, brass, copper and every shade of pumpkin, and it lets flowers and food take the lead. This cloth has a natural flecked texture like linen and comes with two edges:

• Ruffle, a gathered flounce that falls in soft waves, for a romantic farmhouse table
• Tassels, a cream tassel trim that feels relaxed and a little boho

Fabric

It's 100% polyester woven to look like linen. You get the matte, flecked surface without the constant wrinkling of real linen, and it washes and dries quickly between holiday meals.

Choosing your size

All seven sizes are 59 in (150 cm) wide, which gives a generous drop on tables up to 40 in (102 cm) wide. Add twice your drop to the table length and pick the nearest size.

If you choose the ruffle, check that the hem clears your chair seats; a ruffled edge looks best with a drop of 8 to 10 in (20 to 25 cm).

For a long Thanksgiving table

The 59 x 138 in (150 x 350 cm) size covers a table seating 12, or two smaller tables pushed together end to end. If the extra guests sit at a separate table, order the same edge in a smaller size so both tables match.

Care

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang to dry. Shake out the ruffle or smooth the tassels while the cloth is damp. If creases remain, iron on low; polyester doesn't need high heat. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
